For a stone stuck in the bile duct, both the endoscopic procedure and the operation are available here, and the two specialists decide together which you need.
Our consultant surgeon works alongside a medical gastroenterologist. We have consultant anaesthetists, an intensive care unit, a 24-hour laboratory and ultrasound and CT imaging.

When to seek emergency care
Yellowing of the eyes or skin, pain in the upper abdomen that keeps returning, particularly after fatty food, and unexplained weight loss with digestive symptoms all need to be seen. If a scan has found something in your liver, gallbladder or pancreas, bring the scan itself, not just the report. If the yellowing or the pain is severe or sudden, come to our emergency department.
