We treat bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles: a broken bone, a worn knee or hip, a ligament torn in a fall or a game, long-standing arthritis, and back and neck pain.
We have three consultant orthopaedic surgeons. We perform joint replacement, in which a worn joint surface is replaced with an artificial one, most often at the knee or hip, and arthroscopy, keyhole repair of ligaments and cartilage inside a joint. We have X-ray, ultrasound and CT, our emergency department is open 24 hours, and a fracture is imaged and set on one visit. Rehabilitation after surgery is arranged on referral.

When to seek emergency care
Joint pain that limits what you can do, a joint that locks or gives way, or back or neck pain that shoots down a limb with numbness or weakness: book an outpatient visit. An obviously deformed limb after an injury, a bone visible through a wound, or loss of feeling below an injury needs care at once. Come to our emergency department.
